Alabama Biscuits

Dissolve yeast in warm milk (105-110 degrees). Mix together dry ingredients. Cut fat into dry ingredients with a pastry blender. Stir in milk-yeast mixture; don't overmix. Let rise 3 hours. Roll and cut into biscuits; don't overhandle. Bake at 450 degrees for 10-15 minutes.

Marie's Corn Bread

Mix together dry ingredients. Beat egg, add milk and oil. Add dry ingredients, do not overbeat. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

Pancakes

Mix together dry ingredients. Beat egg, add milk and butter. Add dry ingredients, do not overbeat. Cook on griddle.

Double-Trick Cheese Bread

Activate yeast in warm water. Add rest of ingredients and knead. Let rise 3 hours or until doubled in size. Shape dough into four 10-inch loaves. Place loaves on greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise again until doubled (about 30 minutes). Bake at 400 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.

Bishop's Bread

Mix together dry ingredients except sugar. Beat eggs and sugar. Fold in dry and remaining ingredients. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
